As I came over yonders hill I spied a mighty turkey
He flapped his wings and he spread his tail
And his feet looked awful dirty

Albuquerque Turkey

Lyrics

Albuquerque is a turkey,
And he’s feathered and he’s fine
And he wobbles and he gobbles
And he’s absolutely mine.

He’s the best pet that you can get,
Better than a dog or cat,
He’s my Albuquerque turkey,
And I’m awfully proud of that.

And my Albuquerque turkey
Is so happy in his bed,
‘Cause for our Thanksgiving dinner,
We had scrambled eggs instead.

Lyrics

1. Here we come a-wassailing, among the leaves of green;
Here we come a-wandering, so fairly to be seen.

Refrain
Our jolly wassail, our jolly wassail,
Love and joy come to you and to our wassail bough;
Pray God bless you, and send you a happy New Year,
A New Year, a New Years
Pray God bless you, and send you a happy New Year.

2. We are not daily beggars, that beg from door to door;
We are the neighbours’ children, whom you have seen before. Refrain

3. I have a little purse, it is made of leather skin;
I want a little sixpence, to line it well within. Refrain

4. Bring us out the table, and spread it with the cloth;
Bring us out the bread and cheese, and a bit of your Christmas loaf. Refrain

5. God bless the master of this house, and the mistress too;
Also the little children, which round the table grew. Refrain

Lyrics

Mér um hug og hjarta nú,
hljómar sætir líða.
Óma vorljóð, óma þú,
út um grundir víða.
Hljóma þar við hús þú sér,
hýrleg blómin skína.
Fríðri rós, er fyrir ber,
færðu kveðju mína.

Translation – Around My Thoughts and Heart

Around my thoughts and heart now
Sweet sounds hover.
Ring, spring poem, ring
Out over the wide land.
Resound around the house there
Where cheerful flowers shine.
Peaceful rose, if you find her there,
Give her my greeting!

English lyrics

1. Children sing a carol splendid
Ecce mundis gaudia
On this morning Christ descended
In te sunt solemnia
O virgo Maria
Dei plena gracia!

2. In the midnight to a maiden…
Gabriel with good news laden…

3. Came and gave her friendly greeting…
God’s especial business trusting…

4. Said His Son would be her baby…
Till, she said, how such things may be…

5. Then the angel spoke a wonder…
God would keep her maid and mother…

6. So she bore the Heavenly Stranger…
So she laid Him in a manger…

Translation

Good evening Kings,
if it is your will,
Christ the Divine Birth,
to sing in your mansion.
Christ is born today,
in Bethlehem the city,
the heavens are rejoicing,
rejoices the nature all.

Inside the cave (He) is being born
In a manger for horses
The King of heaven
The Creator of all.
Numerous angels are singing,
Glory in the highest,
and this is an honor,
the shepherd’s faith.

They come from Persia
three magicians with gifts
star shining leads them
Without any delay.

Lyrics

Què li darem an el Noi de la Mare?
Què li darem que li sàpiga bo?
Li darem panses amb unes balances,
Li darem figues amb un paneró.

Què li darem al Fillet de Maria?
Què li darem al formós Infantó?
Panses i figues i nous i olives,
Panses i figues i mel i mató.

Tam-pa-tam-tam que les figues són verdes,
Tam-pa-tam-tam que ja maduraran.
Si no maduren el dia de Pasqua,
maduraran en el dia del Ram.

Translation

What will we give to the Son of the Mother?
What will we give that he will enjoy?
We shall give Him a tray full of raisins,
We shall give a basket of figs.

What will we give to the beloved of Mary?
What will we give to her beautiful Child?
Raisins and figs and nuts and olives,
Raisins and figs and honey and curd.

Tam-pan-tam-tam, the figs are green,
Tam-pa-tam-tam, they will mature.
If they do not mature on Easter,
They will mature on Palm Sunday.

Trei păstori se întâlniră
Trei păstori se întâlniră
Raza soarelui, floarea soarelui
Şi aşa se sfătuiră.

Haideţi fraţilor să mergem
Haideţi fraţilor să mergem
Raza soarelui, floarea soarelui
Floricele să culegem.

Şi să facem o cunună
Şi să facem o cunună
Raza soarelui, floarea soarelui
S-o împletim cu voie bună.

Şi s-o ducem lui Hristos
Şi s-o ducem lui Hristos
Raza soarelui, floarea soarelui
Să ne fie de folos.

In Bethlehem City

Lyrics

1. In Bethlehem city, in Judea it was,
That Joseph and Mary together did pass,
All for to be taxed when thither they came,
For Caesar Augustus commanded the same.

Refrain
Then let us be merry, cast sorrow away,
Our Saviour Christ Jesus was born on this day.

2. But Mary’s full time being come as we find,
She brought forth her first-born to save all mankind;
The inn being full of the heavenly Guest,
No place could she find to lay Him to rest. Refrain

3. Blest Mary, blest Mary, so meek and so mild,
All wrapped up in swathing this heavenly Child,
Contented she laid where oxen do feed,
The great God of nature approved of the deed. Refrain

4. To teach us humility all this was done,
To learn us from hence haughty pride for to shun
The manger His cradle Who came from above,
The great God of mercy, of peace and of love. Refrain

5. Then presently after the shepherds did spy,
Vast numbers of angels did stand in the sky;
So merry were talking, so sweetly did sing,
“All glory and praise to the heavenly King!” Refrain

Sleigh Ride

Lyrics

Ting-a-ling-a-ling go the sleigh bells sweet
Ting-a-ling-a-ling in the snowy street
Here comes a sleigh to take us riding,
Merrily along on its runners gliding
Stops for a moment in the snow
Tumble-umble in and then away we go!

Ting-a-ling-a-ling as we glide along
Ting-a-ling-a-ling is the sleigh bells’ song
See how the horses pull together
Galloping along in the frosty weather
Trot I go the hoofs with cheery sound
Clatter, clatter, clatter o’er the frozen ground

Ting-a-ling-a-ling by the frozen lake
Ting-a-ling-a-ling, what a noise we make.
All afternoon our bells are tinkling,
With a merry tune till the stars are twinkling;
Back to the city turn we fast,
Ting-a-ling-a-ling and now we’re home at last!

Translation

It will soon be dark,
it will soon be night,
That’s why I come to You,
My Savior, who keeps watch.
I’d like to sing a little song
to the darling child, the little one.
You don’t feel like sleeping,
I hear You only cry.

Refrain
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Sleep sweetly, dearest child.

Forget now, oh child,
Your troubles, Your sorrow,
That You must suffer there
in the stable in the strange land.

Translation

Saint Basil comes
And does not acknowledge us,
From, from Caesarea.
You are, you are the mistress of the house!

He holds a pen and paper
And leavened sweets.
Paper, paper and ink.
Look at me, look at me, the brave one!

The ink wrote
And told fortunes,
And the, and the paper spoke.
Our golden, our golden clove!

It is the first day of the month and the year,
My tall rosemary,
And from, and from the
Beginning a good year for us.
The church, the church with the holy throne!

Christ came in the beginning,
Holy and Spiritual,
On earth, on earth he walked
To give us, to give us good cheer!
